NEW BUSINESS

  1.  ELAC RECOMMENDATION TO THE SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL

The members of the English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) made the following recommendation to the School Site Council (SSC):

  • The ELAC recommends all students on campus should watch an educational video on students with special needs. The video should be about bullying so students with special needs are shown more respect by their classmates.
  • The ELAC recommends the school should have parents of tardy students come into the office and have them fill in a sign in sheet and the reason for their child’s tardiness. This could eliminate student tardies if parents know they are being held accountable.

The English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) moved a motion to send a written recommendation to the School Site Council (SSC).  The motion of the first recommendation was made by Carmen Fernandez, and seconded by Elida Elias. The results were all six members in favor. The motion was approved.  The motion of the second recommendation was made by Elida Elias, and seconded by Iris Martinez.  The results were all six members in favor, and one community member opposed.  The motion was approved.
