Grade 6 Department & SAS Program

Dear Parents,

My name is Steve Goodelle. I've taught at Le Conte MS for the past 15 years for a total of 26 years as a teacher. I also taught soldiers in the U.S. Air Force in the use of small arms. I lived in Germany for a couple of years while serving my country. I am married with a wonderful wife, 2 wonderful children, 4 cats, and a dog. I grew up in Southern California. I speak, read, and write in Spanish.

I have 2 different 6th grade math and science classes, one is the S.A.S. or School of Advanced Studies. While the other class is the home school math and science class. The S.A.S. class works at a higher level than my regular class does, and we also work faster. This class also has projects and other activities that I do not assign to the other class.

In our math classes, we are using the textbook called Illustrative Math. In our science classes we are using the textbook called Amplified Science. Students can write in both textbooks and do not have to return them at the end of the year. These books are also available to use one their computers.
If you child is having issues with homework, they should only complete what they can. I usually will review the homework or they can see me at lunch or recess for help. I also will reply to their messages on Schoology.
To better communicate with you, I use Classdojo.com. Please sign up. I have sent links to your child's class on Schoology. If you need help please let me know.
