“MEXICO NEXT RIGHT”

VISUAL RESPONSE ASSIGNMENT

ASSIGNMENT:

  1. Draw a map of the United States and Mexico. Create the border that separates the U.S. and Mexico. Instead of a line as a border, try to use symbols (based on Sandra Cisneros’s work) that show the differences between her U.S. and Mexico.

    2. Your artwork should be a collage of full color illustrations, symbols, icons, or computer/magazine images that reveal the mood and tone of Cisneros’s setting.
  1. You should portray at least 5 symbols on each side of the border that symbolize the difference the author experienced when crossing from the U.S. into Mexico in “Mexico Next Right.”
