If a student does not meet the 70 credits (3 or more fails) the student or parent/guardian may appeal with an online appeal application for extenuating circumstances that affect attendance and/or academic achievement.  In addition, a student or parent/guardian may appeal, if you do not have the 70 credits because of your grades from the fall semester, but made significant improvement in academic achievement from fall to spring semester (grades of C's or better and no U's).

The culmination ceremony is a school privilege and optional, therefore students participating must fully cooperate.  Every participant must follow the school rules of conduct.

Students eligible for culmination, may still be pulled from participating based on behavior or school incidents.  Students are expected to maintain grades, work habits, cooperation, attendance up to and through the actual ceremony.

Participation in the culmination is free of charge. However, all  financial obligations owed to the school must be cleared in order to receive a culmination certificate. If your child owes fines to the school, they will receive a notice stating what is owed (textbook(s), unreturned library book(s), and Chromebook fees, etc.).  Once the debt is cleared, bring the receipt to the Magnet office and you will be able to pick up their culmination certificate.

The ceremony will be held inside the auditorium.  To comply with Fire Marshal Regulations, we must limit the number of attendees to have a safe event.  Therefore, culminating students each receive 4 tickets for their family to attend as guests.  NON-CULMINATING STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED (unless they are siblings).  Very young children (under 2 years)  who remain on the lap of an adult throughout the ceremony, do not need a ticket.  Strollers must remain in the auditorium lobby, we cannot block any aisles or emergency exits.

Students and guests arrive 30 minutes before the ceremony.  The ceremony will begin promptly on time.

Parking will be available on the soccer field, guests will need to walk on the outside of campus to the outside doors of the auditorium to enter the event (no one allowed to walk through the school).

Loud horns or noise makers are not permitted.  All parents wish to hear their child’s name.  Please consider all guests, we don’t want to have to ask anyone to leave.  Balloons or large objects that can obstruct the vision of another guest will be asked to leave in your car or move to the balcony area of the auditorium.

After the ceremony you may return for a limited amount of time to the auditorium to take pictures on the stage.  We need to clear the auditorium by 10:30 am, to prepare for the following ceremony.

The dignity of a culmination ceremony requires that all participants dress with modesty and appropriateness of dressInappropriately dressed students will be asked to change their clothing if they wish to participate in the ceremony. We consider the following to be appropriate guidelines for a culmination ceremony:
