HISTORY

Founded in 1995, The award-winning L.A.C.E.R. Afterschool Programs provide under-served middle and high school student in Los Angeles with exciting arts and literacy based activities and a variety of sports in a safe and caring environment.

Led by Artistic Director Will Seymour, L.A.C.E.R.'s arts programming was awarded the 2003 "Coming Up Taller Award" at a ceremony in the White House from the President's Committee on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts. Our teaching artists and their projects have been recipients of the California Arts Council's residency grants since 1998.

Each school year L.A.C.E.R. students in the arts, homework clubs and sports work towards cumulative concerts, contests and tournaments keeping kids in school during the day and working with professional artists, qualified tutors and excellent coaches after school.
